Hi all,

This is a quick note to let you know that we’ve just released the 2020-09 update of the book. As promised, we’ve made quite some changes, all of which you can read in the change log.

In addition to a bunch of fixes, we’ve added a ton of new content, as well as a foreword by Nicholas DiCola, Principal Group PM Manager, Cloud Security, Microsoft Corporation.

How to get the update(s)?

If you’ve previously purchased the book, head over to your Gumroad platform and download the newer version of the file(s). Older versions are replaced automatically.

What’s new?

September 2020 updates

All of the chapters in the book have had an update in some shape, way, or form. Aside from typos and some formatting errors, all chapters have received fresh new content including in-depth information on Microsoft Threat Protection, Azure AD Administrative Units, Microsoft Defender ATP for Android, etc.

With this update, you will notice that some elements have moved from Chapter 4 (Microsoft Defender ATP) to Chapter 6 (Microsoft Threat Protection). This move also reflects the path Microsoft is on, whereby functionalities are merged into Microsoft Threat Protection and the M365 Security Portal. We anticipate that a lot more content will eventually be consolidated in the Microsoft Threat Protection chapter in the future.

EPUB-format now also included!

We’ve heard your feedback loud and clear. And although it took us a little longer than what we had hoped for, we’ve now also included an EPUB-format of the book as part of the package!

Note that, due to limitations of the EPUB-format, some elements like footnotes are not available. Over the next couple of updates, we will be addressing links in the main book so that they are more pleasant to deal with in the EPUB version as well.

Please, bear with us as we try to get the details of the EPUB-format right. It might take us a couple of iterations, but we’ll get there. Do not hesitate to provide your feedback on how we can improve your experience though!
